Hours: Tue - Sat, 10am - 6pm (timings will shift based on event schedules)
Location : In person, primarily at Paper Crane Lab, Indiranagar, Bangalore, with time at Samagata Space, Church Street, Bangalore as needed

What is MOSAIC?

MOSAIC (Movement for Science Appreciation through Inclusion of Communities) is a community initiative based on the belief that society benefits when science is open, spirited, and inclusive of all - be it seasoned researchers, scientists, and educators, or tinkerers, students, or the simply curious.
It is an experiment in building a diverse and inclusive community around all things science, from the fun to the fundamental, from informal meetups to conferences to collaborations and projects. This approach has worked for open-source technology communities all over the world - we at Mosaic are testing whether it can work for science too.

What are the events we have run so far?

  • Science Sante BLR #1 (Jan 2026) - Our first unconference-style gathering in Bangalore, bringing together researchers, educators, and the curious public.
  • Science Sante BLR #2 (28 Mar 2026) - Held at VITM, Bengaluru, with a participation of 80+ people.
  • Sci-fold: A Zine-making Workshop (13 Jun 2026) - A pilot offshoot workshop bringing science and art together, hosted at Paper Crane Lab.
  • Science Sante BLR #3 (1 Aug 2026) - Our third edition, held at Science Gallery Bengaluru.

Primary Roles

  • Organising and running Science Sante and its offshoot events.
  • Ideating and organising new offshoot events that further public science discourse in India
  • Coordinating with speakers and facilitators for all MOSAIC events.
  • Coordinating with vendors and managing logistics for all MOSAIC events.
  • Managing event (pre and post-event) storytelling, including but not limited to, social media accounts, newsletters, email follow-ups.
  • Documenting the events - both self-documenting and collecting and curating content from participants.
  • Identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with individuals, communities, and organizations on potential collaborations with MOSAIC
  • Overseeing, managing, and helping grow the volunteer community

Secondary Roles

  • Keeping updated on current happenings in science research, education, and communication, in India and internationally.
  • Ideating new ways this community can work and grow, to strengthen existing programs and reach more communities.
