Movement for Science Appreciation through Inclusion of Communities

Mosaic is a community initiative based on the belief that society benefits when science is open, spirited, and inclusive of all; be it seasoned researchers, scientists, and educators, or tinkerers, students, or the simply curious.

It is an experiment in building a diverse and inclusive community around all things science, from the fun to the fundamental, from informal meetups to conferences to collaborations to projects and intersections. It has worked for open-source technology communities the world over. Then why not for science?

Goals

  • Intentionally informal and people-centric.
  • Shaped by participation.
  • Focused on sharing, tinkering, learning, and connecting.
  • A friendly gathering where knowledge is exchanged freely and joyfully.
